The Legacy Patchwork Journal joins two crafts in a single cover: a frame of repurposed leather, and panels of block-printed fabric made by artisans local to our partner workshops in India. Every cover is cut, pieced, and stitched by hand, and because the fabric is salvaged remnant by remnant, no two covers are exactly alike. The leather is finished with natural vegetable dyes, so its undertone shifts a little from season to season; your journal is a record of when it was made as much as of what you write in it.
Inside are 100 unlined pages of thick 120 gsm tree-free khadi cotton paper, handmade from cotton waste. It's paper that loves ink and resists bleed-through, with a texture under the pen that suits reflective writing, sketches, and poetry equally.
When the pages fill, the cover stays. The journal takes 8" x 6" notebook inserts, so the patchwork frame carries years of writing while only the pages change.
